Tyrannical Wang’s Beloved Wife

chapter-97-2
“Fifth brother what do you want to say to me?” Sun Yi Jia sat down and poured herself a cup of water.
“In reality, I just wanted to ask, did you encounter something at the Luo Manor, or is it because of me, that you fought with Miss Luo? If that’s really the case, then younger sister, you might have been a little rude and impetuous. This matter, Miss Luo isn’t at fault. And I don’t wish for you to lose this hard to come by good friend because of me either.”
Sun Yi Jia held the cup in hand and blankly fell into a daze. Sun Yi Lin called her two more times before she finally returned to her senses. With her like this, to say there was nothing, who would believe? Concern showed in Sun Yi Lin’s eyes. “Fifth brother, nothing happened. Little sister Wan and I are fine.”
“Then, why is your mood so low, like you have a heavy load on your mind?”
Sun Yi Jia fell silent.“What is there that you can’t tell your fifth brother about?”
Sun Yi Jia suddenly couldn’t hold back her tears.
This time, it really shocked Sun Yi Lin quite a bit. She’d only cried in grievance once to their mother after she got injured. Afterwards, even when getting bestowed the marriage, even when returning to the manor and facing the ridicule of numerous people, she didn’t shed a single tear. “Younger sister, first, don’t cry. Just what exactly happened? Tell fifth brother, fifth brother will help you think of a way.”
Sun Yi Jia wiped away her tears, “At the eve of my marriage, I suddenly discovered that I might have fallen for a man, yet that person isn’t the one I’m about to marry.”
Sun Yi Lin blanked. He never thought that it would actually be something like this. He’d once always thought that his younger sister’s personality was cold, and her sights high, that’s why that many outstanding gentlemen from prestigious families in the entire capital, not a single one she took fancy in. One has to know, other girls, at twelve thirteen years of age, or even earlier, will have already had their first awakening of love. But her, even if clearly knowing an agreement was reached in secret to let her be Kang Wangfei, when she saw Kang Qinwang, she’d never blushed once. “Who?”
“Luo family’s third young master, little sister Wan’s full blooded older brother.”
It was another unexpected answer. With the trip to the White Dragon Temple, Sun Yi Lin naturally wasn’t unfamiliar with Luo Jing Bo. That was indeed a person that was completely different from them in personality. For his younger sister to have fallen for him, perhaps wasn’t without reason. Turns out, she never had high sights, but rather, yearned for simple and ordinary days. Her heart admired those that were simple yet also had rich emotions. “Younger sister, don’t worry, your marriage perhaps can still take a turn. For the time being, just wait.”“Fifth brother, you don’t blame me?”
“Why would I blame you? It’s already impossible for Miss Luo and I, don’t tell me, I’ll even forbid you from falling for Luo family’s men? In the Luo family, aside from Head Minister Luo, the rest perhaps all don’t have any major accomplishments, but just in regards to their family’s style, the Luo family nevertheless is one that many upper class noble families can’t surpass. In the past, never paid attention before, so didn’t know, but after paying attention to them, one would discover that in the entire capital, there was actually a few middle to lower ranked officials that were willing to have their daughters married into the Luo family. And Luo Jing Bo just happens to be the most liked one. With that many people all fancying him meant that he really was not bad. For younger sister to fall for him, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
Sun Yi Jia somewhat bashfully and also somewhat hopefully asked, “Fifth brother, you said there perhaps may be a turn of events, how likely is that?”
Sun Yi Lin looked to her. Even if she didn’t care very much right now, that Luo Jing Bo still more or less crept into her heart. “Sorry, younger sister, I don’t know.” He never once thought that one day, he would have all his hope entrusted onto Jin Qinwang.
“Little sister Wan also said perhaps there’ll be a turn of events. Perhaps I should believe you all.” Because there was this small hope, Sun Yi Jia’s heartbeat somewhat increased.
Sun Yi Lin’s mind turned, “You met Luo family’s third young master today?”
Sun Yi Jia nodded, “Today, he came looking for little sister Wan, and we just happened to run into each other.” As for the specifics, it wasn’t good for her to say too much. After all, it was a painting style that still haven’t been spread out. Just based on that unfinished painting, she can faintly foresee the commotion it would bring when it debuts.
“Did Miss Luo figure out your thoughts?”
“I don’t know. I believed myself to have already restrained myself as much as possible, but you know, little sister Wan’s mind is meticulous and she has a clever heart. It’s inevitable that she would make out something. Fifth brother, say, if she were to know, would she not like it? I’m a girl with a ruined appearance, and also has an engagement at hand, even about to get married, yet I shamelessly fell for her older brother.” As Sun Yi Jia spoke, she wanted to cry again.
That’s why, such a thing like feelings, really made people weak easily, whether it was sorrow or happiness, or worries of personal gain or loss. “No way, what kind of person she is, you still don’t know?”
“Yes, little sister Wan is that good, yet I………..”
“Younger sister, why don’t you take a trip to grandmother’s place. She’d previously sent someone to come look for you.” Sun Yi Lin didn’t want to see her like this. His heart was weary, and was even easily infected by her mood.
“Understood.”
And not long after Sun Yi Jia left, Jing Wan also learned from Gong mama everything that happened this day. Sun Yi Lin getting drunk at Unnamed Building and doing something insane for once, towards this, Jing Wan remained silent. As for how his Majesty handled the ‘love triangle’, as expected, Jin Qinwang was truly the treasure of Le Cheng Emperor’s heart. And Le Cheng Emperor issuing a decree to have Ruan Fang Fei bestowed to Jin Qinwang as a side consort………..
“Is this Emperor of ours disdaining the fact that the Head Cabinet Minister is too loyal towards him, thus want to have him pushed out?” Jing Wan was speechless for a good while before she finally opened her mouth. Actually, she further wanted to say, did Le Cheng Emperor lose his mind, or having a seizure?
Gong mama knew, this matter most likely had to do with Imperial Noble Consort and Jin Qinwang, but as for the specifics, she didn’t know. That year, she was actually just a powerless little palace maid, ten some years of age, and not long after entering the palace, she already offended someone, and because she also knew some martial arts, and didn’t understand the dangers and difficulties of the imperial palace, in a fit of anger, went too far. As a result, she suffered from the retaliation. If not for the Imperial Noble Consort for saving her, she would’ve long died in some dried up well. However, she didn’t know if by then, whether or not there were already problems at her Highness’s side, because she didn’t have her placed by her side, instead letting an old palace maid teach her martial arts in secret, teaching her various kinds of rules and etiquette, as well as medicine and things for maintaining the body and so on. Don’t know if it was because she worried there wasn’t enough time and couldn’t teach her one by one, she gave her some books to memorize. It’s fine if she didn’t know how to read, the old palace maid would recite a line and she would repeat it, letting her memorize it. Afterwards, she can then slowly master the subject through comprehension of the context. Fortunately, her memory was not bad, in addition to her using a hundred and twenty percent effort to learn it.
The last time Gong mama saw Imperial Noble Consort, she was supporting a pregnant belly, smiling exceptionally gentle, rubbing her head, seemingly wanting to say something, but in the end, just said: “Hoping these things can help you survive in the palace.”
Afterwards, the next day, news of Imperial Noble Consort’s death spread.
And precisely because everything was done in secret, after Imperial Noble Consort’s death, she didn’t get purged. Perhaps just on the matter of shielding her, Imperial Noble Consort had already exhausted all her efforts. After all, Le Cheng Emperor hated he couldn’t have her constantly tied to the waist.
Gong mama didn’t know how Imperial Noble Consort died, but she knew that it definitely wasn’t from post-labor hemorrhaging.
Gong mama had gritted her teeth and bore the pain. That’s why she didn’t, in a moment of impulse, go investigate the truth in order to avenge Imperial Noble Consort, because she was very clear that her own power was weak and couldn’t achieve anything on her own. In fact, she might even throw in her life in vain. She rather wasn’t afraid of death, just remembering that she still hasn’t repaid Imperial Noble Consort for saving her life, and at that time, she also vaguely understood, Imperial Noble Consort perhaps wanted to leave someone for her child, thus Gong mama laid dormant in the palace. Although she couldn’t investigate the mystery of Imperial Noble Consort’s death, she however did learn quite a few dirty secrets of the inner palace.
Originally, she just wanted to secretly watch over the sixth prince. After all, Noble Consort Su really was very good to him.
All the way until a certain day after the sixth prince turned ten, he suddenly came to find her, revealing his wisdom that far surpassed the average person, and means that made one’s heart jump. Only then did she realize just how terrifying this seemingly just a bit brighter than the other princes, and also a little bit mischievous, little master was. However, Gong mama rather wasn’t scared. On the contrary, she was very excited, because she now had the chance to avenge Imperial Noble Consort.
Afterwards, Gong mama sunk into a countless times more painful abyss of suffering than that period of time in the past. However, fortunately, she for the most part knew how to read, so even if she got thrown book after book by her little master, she still could clench her teeth and finish reading it in the set time limit, and dissolve it into her own knowledge. And as for her martial arts, she also had been practicing daily nonstop all these years.
Days like these passed by for six years. Little master went from a ten year old child to a sixteen year old young man, and from an androgynous child that was so beautiful that it was difficult for one to turn their eyes away, to gradually emerging into a valiant young man. And when he got bestowed as a wang and left the palace to open his own residence, he merely used some simple means to let them all follow him out of the palace after him.
Another four years passed. He transformed into a true man, majestic and handsome, and was the capital’s number one male beauty. Just that personality, and also his certain conducts, truly made one hard to agree blindly. From a little demon, to the demon king’s incarnate, then gradually becoming the living Enma, his temper became increasingly strange and fickle, his mood unpredictable, callous and ruthless. His only tender feelings were given to a young miss thousands of miles away. It was very hard to understand, why he would care so much for a girl that he’d never met before. However, he himself was already a mystery, rather there was no need to look into it too much.
Her second master, when he turned twenty, made her change her identity and go serve her third master. She, from a shadow guard, changed into a mama, however this to her was all of no importance………
T/N: A lot of times when I think about Gong mama as a character, I really can’t recall too many characters similar to her in other novels. She’s a character archetype that I wish was more common in novels. Need more badass nanny characters.
