Chapter 145: Not these guys
-*************
The angel just stood there for about 30 seconds. There was no writhing or shaking. He just stood there, with something pouring out from his head. His head was crushed by the metal football. And then, as if someone had pushed him, he dropped, shaking tremendously. It was then that the ball dropped out from the head and the mixture of fluid and blood began to pour onto the ground.
Dohyuk helped his other body stand and looked down. There was an attempt to regenerate, but it didn’t seem to be working. The angel was dying.
And as such, the wings were also shrinking, as if they were dissolving. Except for the one wing that was dissolving at a slower pace, all three wings seemed like they would soon disappear.Yet, he was still alive.
“…I should…”
“…Finish him…”
The two Dohyuks spoke and the one who had taken no damage tried to make a move.
-O’ God of Unbreakable.
“…!!”
“…!!”Another voice came, and another angel came down from the sky. The two Dohyuks looked up. It was the four-winged angel that controlled the tower from Dohyuk’s city. It was over. He had no way to fight anymore. But then he realized-
‘He’s not here to fight me.’
If the angel wanted to attack, he had time. It seemed that he wasn’t trying to fight based off his voice and sad expression.
“Are you next?” Dohyuk asked, but the response was weirder than he expected.
-No. I have no right or reason to fight against you.
“Then?”
-I just wish you could be merciful against my fellow angel, O’God.
“…”
Dohyuk asked, “I thought there were thousands of you guys. Or do you guys pick one up and put it in a recycling bin or something?”
-That is not likely.
Dohyuk wasn’t serious when he asked his question, but the angel answered seriously.
-He has extreme injuries that will not allow him to regenerate. And with his sin for being incapable, Lord Casita will not heal him. Even if he lives, he will lose all of his three wings and return to being a worthless, one-winged angel.
“Then why-” Dohyuk tried to ask but waited. The angel then answered.
-He is my friend.
“…Bull..”
‘Sh*t.’ But Dohyuk couldn’t say it.
“Friend? He’s your friend? So you want to save him? You are asking me for a personal favor? It doesn’t have to do with your master?”
-…Yes.
‘That is impossible!’ Dohyuk tried to shout. It made sense if they were human, but these guys were not human.
“How disgusting.”
Dohyuk then placed his feet on the angel that was on the ground.
“Make up something more feasible. I almost believed you.”
-I can’t help it if you cannot believe me.
The angel was looking down at the foot that Dohyuk had placed on the angel.
“…”
If it was any other situation, Dohyuk would’ve finished the angel already. But he couldn’t. It wasn’t because he trusted the angel. It was the eyes. The eyes looking down at his friend… those were the same eyes he saw from the man that had died about ten minutes ago.
Bill.
Dohyuk took a deep breath and spoke.
“You and him. How did you become friends? Do you send telepathic messages to each other, commenting about what everything looked like through the countless things you guys did in multiple worlds?
-….
The angel did not answer. Dohyuk narrowed his eyes.
“You can’t answer that?”
-I’m afraid not, O’God.”
“Hmph.”
Dohyuk tried to think about what it meant, but then he changed his question.
“Okay. Let’s consider that I let this one live.”
-If you do that…
“Let’s say I believe that he will be a worthless one wing after that. But I don’t think killing him won’t give me anything either.”
-To be exact…
“Huh?”
-If you kill him, you will get 4,552,241 coins. I know it is not a small amount.
“You mean, if I let him live…” Dohyuk looked up and the angel nodded.
“Good.”
He then took his foot off the angel.
“Show me what will you give me right now.”
And before he could finish, the angel grabbed one of his wings and pulled.
Blood splattered.
“…!”
-It is the wing of a four-winged angel.
He offered the wing to Dohyuk. Unlike the wings of the fallen angel, this wing did not dissolve.
-If you bring this to the merchant, you will receive equipment that can be made by processing this wing.
“And that is more worth than 4 million coins?”
-I can promise you that.
“How about you pull me another one?”
The angel did not respond. After the brief silence, Dohyuk scoffed and grabbed the wing.
“I’m joking.”
It seemed the wing was to serve as a symbol and the embodiment of the angel’s power. One wing less was still doable, but losing two wings meant that they would lose half their powers.
“But if I find out that the worth of this wing is less than 4 million, I promise you that I will rip the remaining three off of you.”
-Yes.
The angel answered.
“Good.”
Dohyuk then kicked the angel on the ground. The four-winged- no, three-winged angel then picked up his now one-winged angel friend up from the ground.
-Thank you for your mercy.
And then he bowed to Dohyuk.
-May the blessing of Casita be bestowed upon you during your illumination…
“Don’t give me that crap and get lost.”
Dohyuk waved and the angel soared to the sky and disappeared.
Dohyuk then looked down at the wing. He didn’t 100% believe the angel on the worth, but the wing reflected Kasha’s heat completely. It was certain that it would have other types of resistances in place. If he could create a piece of equipment with those features intact…
“…Dammit.”
Dohyuk then stopped thinking. He knew he was successful, but it didn’t feel good.
“Bastard.”
The eyes that the angel that pulled his wing showed the humanity behind the angel and that made Dohyuk think differently.
It was as if he had made a human to end up like that.
After checking that there was nothing that could threaten him, Dohyuk became one again. One of his bodies had lost an arm, so he was now missing one arm. Dohyuk grabbed the wing with his remaining arm and turned.
‘Come to think of it…’
He remembered he didn’t listen to the announcement to the end. He didn’t hear what the ‘reward’ was.
But it didn’t matter since he could ask Giwon or Yuri.
He didn’t have to ask however as Giwon and Yuri quickly came running to Dohyuk at first sight to see what the reward was. It was shocking for veterans like them to hear it.
“Hah.”
Dohyuk couldn’t help but let out a hollow laugh as he listened.
