chapter-1472
Whenever Leng Wushuang visited, Yan Chen’s mother would ask Lan Waihu to accompany her by her side. When she talked to Leng Wushuang, she looked pleasant and always praised Leng Wushuang for her excellent characteristics. However, she would either choose to ignore Little Fox and ask her to stand at one side or criticize her in front of Leng Wushuang. It made Little Fox feel like she was sitting on a bunch of needles.
When Leng Wushuang had left, Yan Chen’s mother would then stare at Little Fox as if she was staring at a piece of rubbish or mud that was stuck on the wall. It always made Little Fox feel like hiding inside a hole.
Often, Yan Chen’s mother would say a few words to aggravate Little Fox. For example: “Please take a good look at Wushuang. Her movements are very ladylike and graceful. Look at yourself. Sigh!”
“‘You should learn from Wushuang. Even if you are only able to learn a little bit from her, you will not turn out to be like how you are today. Sigh, after all this while, you are still not presentable.”Her taunts affected Little Fox a lot. She worked hard to learn how to walk like Leng Wushuang. However, Yan Chen’s mother teased her that she was merely a copycat when she tried imitating Leng Wushuang’s movements. Lan Waihu was affected to the extent that she had almost forgotten how to walk!
Leng Wushuang’s attitude towards Little Fox was very subtle. Though she was very polite when she spoke to Little Fox, she had a tone that sounded superior to her. She also used a few tricks to force Little Fox into pouring her tea. It was hard for Little Fox to refuse her requests in front of Yan Chen’s mother, and so she could only follow.
Little Fox could sense the feeling of satisfaction from Leng Wushuang’s eyes when she was forced to follow her requests. Hence. she started to dislike Leng Wushuang.
As a respect to Yan Chen, Little Fox was very tolerant of Yan Chen’s mother when she scolded her. However, she did not want to be bullied by Leng Wushuang anymore, so she always ignored Leng Wushuang when she met her. Her actions triggered the dissatisfaction of Yan Chen’s mother and so she was scolded once more.
Leng Wushuang was a knowledgeable person. She was well versed in literature. Whenever she came to visit the Yan family, aside from accompanying Yan Chen’s mother, she would talk to Yan Chen when she occasionally met him. Sometimes, she would use the excuse that she wanted to ask Yan Chen questions related to improving her spiritual power.
Yan Chen was also very polite to her as his mother often praised Leng Wushuang in front of him. Therefore, Yan Chen had an excellent impression of Leng Wushuang. Besides, Leng Wushuang had never expressed her intention to marry him. She always talked to him like a friend. In due time, she was able to get closer to Yan Chen and became his close friend.
Occasionally he would play chess with her. He also willingly helped her answer any queries that she had regarding her training as long as the discussion did not involve any secrets that were related to the Tianju Association. One might call it a coincidence or that it was somehow intentional, but whenever Yan Chen and Leng Wushuang were together, they would be seen by Lan Waihu.
Little Fox saw them playing chess under the tree. She also saw them walking side by side in the garden. Both of them were talking and laughing together.
There was once when Little Fox saw Leng Wushuang stumble while she was walking and fell onto Yan Chen’s body. Yan Chen then carried her to sit on a bench. He was even concerned about her and asked if she had twisted her ankle.
If Little Fox had seen it happen with someone else, she might not have been bothered too much about it. However, she despised Leng Wushuang a lot, so when she saw this scene, she was heartbroken and felt a sense of disccomfort.
Furthermore, Little Fox felt even more dismayed by the fact that Yan Chen was shocked when she tried walking and acting like Leng Wushuang in front of Yan Chen. He even had goosebumps and said, “Little Fox, are you okay? Don’t act like her. I don’t feel comfortable when you act this way.”
