Mr. Zhu was irritated. “Di Fuyi, you have gone beyond limits! If you are really that powerful, you should just attack me!”

Di Fuyi said nothing more and gave him the solid hit that he asked for. While Mr. Zhu was caught up talking, Di Fuyi cast the lightning spell and hit him right on the back of his head.

A huge part of Mr. Zhu’s pitch-black hair was instantaneously burnt. His ears were still ringing in the aftermath of the lightning strike. He caught Di Fuyi’s lips moving, but he could not hear what he said. Needless to say, he must have said something discouraging.

Meanwhile, he took a look at Gu Xijiu and saw her concern. She was looking at them anxiously. Distracted, Mr. Zhu took a few steps back. Gu Xijiu’s facial expression changed abruptly as she called out loud, but there was nothing he could hear. When he could finally read her lips, it was all too late. He already fell into a pond of mud that appeared out of thin air.

“Be careful,” she said.

Mr. Zhu could not hear her warning, but Di Fuyi could. He looked annoyed at Gu Xijiu as she seemed to have taken Mr. Zhu as a friend. To be exact, she had accepted him as her disciple.

Di Fuyi recalled all the times that Gu Xijiu tried to persuade him to become her disciple, but he turned all of her offers down. He was determined to make her his wife, so he was not keen on becoming her disciple.

Now, she finally had her first disciple and immediately became so protective of him. Was she aware of how mentally ill Mr. Zhu actually was? Mr. Zhu once said that he would never be interested in any woman unless she was able to impress him so much that he was willing to become her disciple, It was only then that he would think about marrying her.

In other words, Mr. Zhu would only develop feelings for the woman whom he chose to become her master. Therefore, he must have some other plan going on about Gu Xijiu.

Di Fuyi knew Gu Xijiu well enough. He knew that she would never fall for Mr. Zhu, but he was still irritated at the thought of Mr. Zhu’s one-sided affection for the woman he loved. He was even more irritated at the fact that Mr. Zhu had taken Gu Xijiu away when he was unguarded.

No one was permitted into the dead bamboo garden except for Mr. Zhu himself. Others would have to wait for the specific timing right before the clock struck midnight, and go into the garden using a specific spell. When Di Fuyi was finally able to enter into the bamboo garden, he could not find them anywhere. Instead, he found the pool of blood that Gu Xijiu left behind. With one look, he knew that Gu Xijiu was poisoned.

It was a serious matter. He was worried that she might be critically injured, so he had to perform the tracking spell with his spiritual power in order to find her location as soon as possible. Painstakingly, he went on a search for the entire night and finally found her in the desert the next day. She would be dead in the stomach of the giant snake if he came any later.

Frustrated after a long search, Di Fuyi even thought about killing Mr. Zhu to make him pay for what he had done. When Di Fuyi saw how close Mr. Zhu was with Gu Xijiu, he was even more upset. Even though he did not say anything, his frustration could be seen from how brutal he was with his every move.

He had fought Mr. Zhu before, but the man was not a threat before. Also, he used to be quite impressed by the man’s capability, so the fight ended up in a peaceful tie. Neither Di Fuyi nor Mr. Zhu was benefited from the battle in any way.

The fight only made Mr. Zhu become more cautious of Di Fuyi, so the man dared not cause any trouble. The previous experience had misled Mr. Zhu about Di Fuyi’s strength. Therefore, he was terribly beaten this time around. The Mighty Immortal was beaten and pinned to the ground by a Golden Immortal.
