It was not entirely comfortable on the rock, and his wound was not any better either. However, Yan Chen could not care less about the physical discomfort he was experiencing. All he wanted to do was to see who was really there in front of him earlier.

More accurately speaking, there were two people. There was a man, along with a child. The man was covered in purple elegance, complemented by a loosely tied, straight hairdo that was secured by a hairband. The embellishment of a fox-eye stone on the hairband completely resonated with his gracefulness.

Yan Chen did not want to look at the man anymore, for he was already thrown into comparative obscurity by the man’s ethereal qualities. The man was looking at him nonchalantly as if judging his lack of good sense.

There was also a boy in the man’s arms, perhaps of almost two years of age. His bright, watery eyes and little red lips were adorable. The boy was covered in a snowy white robe, looking as exquisite as ever.

The boy was also looking at Yan Chen, the same way as the man, both judging him for what he had done. However, the boy seemed relieved upon seeing that Yan Chen was still alive. He patted his own chest as a sign of relief and said, “Luckily, we made it! Father, save him. Don’t let him die.”

Yan Chen still could not quite get a grasp of what was happening. Dumbstruck, he said in an almost inaudible utterance, “Celestial… Celestial… Celestial Master Zuo?”

The man was Di Fuyi. The man, who was known to be long gone and immortalized, was looking alive and well in front of him. Yan Chen thought that he must be dead. Perhaps, that would make more sense.

What surprised him, even more, was the fact that the once arrogant Celestial Master Zuo was now holding a boy in his arms, so closely and securely. The man never let anyone get too close to him, nor would he allow anyone to touch him.

“It is me. If you can still recognize me, I will assume that you are not entirely stupid,” Di Fuyi said, mockingly. Nonetheless, there was no time for nonsense. Yan Chen’s clothes were ripped away by a sudden, unseen force, thus revealing the bloody wound underneath it.

Di Fuyi flipped a white, jade bottle open and held it in the air. The bottle then slanted a little to pour some liquid right on the wound.

Yan Chen quivered for a moment as it was too painful for him to handle. The liquid medicine burned and tingled his open wound as if it were the strongest kind of alcohol. His complexion went wrinkly and pallid abruptly. Sweat broke out on his forehead, clearly showing that he was miserable.

“Is it painful?” Di Fuyi casually asked.

Yan Chen wanted him to try the same sensation, so he knew how dumb the question was. Many complaints arose in his head, but he dared not say a word.

Celestial Master Zuo was known to be a fussy man, and Yan Chen was not ready to pay the price for what he had to say.

He answered him honestly, “Yes, it is painful.”

“This is the price of your stupidity,” Di Fuyi commented.

Yan Chen decided not to say anything more.

Di Hao saw Yan Chen’s pale complexion and could not help but sympathize with him. “Your wife is obviously under the influence of someone else’s control. How could you stay so still and let her stab you like that? That was absolutely unwise.” Di Hao still spoke with the voice of a child, making him even more adorable to the public.

Yan Chen looked at him admirably. The boy even talked with the same condescending tone as his father. He could not help but wonder if Gu Xijiu knew about the boy. Many questions were beginning to dawn on him. However, he quickly turned his attention back to Lan Waihu, who was now struggling to sit up. She was still the one he cared about the most.
