Villain: The Play of Destiny
-
chapter-222
"I am sorry I made you late for the event." She feigned some worry when they finally drove off to the Octavia Hospital, which was only 10 minutes away from their new house.
It was well past 9 pm now, and though he had missed a good show, which he knew was bound to take place tonight, he was not disappointed about it.
Keith glanced at the reason he got late for the event, and instead of answering her, he placed his free hand on her thigh and started caressing it from over the clothes.
He knew exactly what kind of effect his action was having on her since he knew all her weaknesses and a playful smile crept on his lips when he felt her body tremble slightly.
"Should I turn back? We could go for another round." He suggested and earned her giggles. But Celine was playful too, and she was mischievous enough to not brush his hand away.
"Or... We could wrap up everything fast and return home early." She blushed as she spoke those words and kept enjoying his ministrations, feeling sweet in her heart.
His cell phone suddenly started ringing, and Keith answered it.
"Yes?"
"Master Demiliore," The man on the call respectfully spoke, "there is some trouble brewing up at the Hospital. The young doctor by the name of Kylian Dusk is humiliating the group of Eastern Doctors at the Hospital and those who have come for tonight's event from our affiliated Hospitals. They have seemingly irked him by boasting their proficiency in diagnosis through visual inspection in front of his team."
"Interesting." Keith smiled when he heard those words. "And how exactly is he humiliating them?"
"Kylian had successfully diagnosed nine patients so far just through his visual inspection and judgment.""He studied Eastern Medicinal Techniques?"
"They are not on his CV, but it should be the case. He seems highly proficient in it."
"Interesting fellow." He chuckled. "Contain the situation. I will be there in a couple of minutes."
"Yes, Master Demiliore." The Dean of Octavia Hospital politely said right before Keith ended the call.
A few minutes later, their car entered the premises of the Octavia Hospital, and thankfully, there was no big reception or anything, which Celine was not fond of.
"By the way, Keith, where did you get these from?" Celine curiously asked as she inspected the cute colourful metallic bands he had gifted to her, Yingying, and Minami before they left home.
"A shop." He chuckled and replied, which made her pout at him.
Before she could ask anything again, a few people approached them.
"Master Demiliore!"
"Dean Graham." He shook his hand with the giddy old man, who had been waiting for his arrival together with the senior management of the Hospital. "My apologies for keeping you all waiting."
"It is fine, Masted Demiliore. We are just glad that you came tonight." Graham respectfully replied and then politely greeted the three beautiful ladies by his side. "Please," He gestured, and Keith nodded to him before walking inside the building.
The reason why he was here tonight was that the Black Forest Group had acquired The Sevens Health Group, which owned the Octavia Hospital of Arkton City. The news was going to be made public on the coming Friday, but he was visiting tonight to tour around the Hospital and see for himself how things were working here.
Even though he was not interested in visiting wards and checking all the technology and equipment that the Hospital had at its disposal, he was patient enough to go through all of it.
He took amusement in how curious Minami looked as it was the first time she was visiting any hospital, and her curious eyes looked everywhere.
What was interesting was that she had no expressions of pity or discomfort on her face when they came across patients who were in a very sorry state. There was only indifference in her dark eyes, the same that he was very capable of masking but she was not.
Celine was a little too empathetic, and she was quite affected by seeing people fighting for their lives, and all the while, she was holding his hand.
If he did not know her better, he would have taken it as her jumping at the chance to hold his hand, but he knew that she was not faking her sorrow at seeing the weak and sick.
More than once she was tempted to ask him to save the people who were undoubtedly going to die, but she remembered the words Rebecca had told her.
'Death is inevitable, and every Life must end to begin a new one.'
What the girl had meant by her words was that you must not save everything even if you can, because you must never interfere too much in the course of nature. Which would otherwise have unforeseen consequences.
And she remembered that Keith had strictly forbidden Rebecca from saving anyone from natural death.
However, the real reason why she kept her requests in her heart was that she knew that she should not say anything in front of all these people.
The last thing she wanted was to create trouble for Keith, and she would rather not put him in any unnecessary trouble than save a few people from meeting their end.
It was a scary thought, and she knew very well that for her to have such a thought meant that Venessa and Rebecca were rubbing on her a little too much. But it was not something that she felt disturbed about. After all, Family always came first.
Finally, after touring around the Hospital, their entourage entered the executive lounge where the Doctors and Head Nurses were present along with a few special guests.
It was only given that everybody stood up as soon as he entered the room, he was quite used to it, but he smiled in his heart when he watched the favoured Child of Destiny stand up as well in a respectful way.
Of course, Kylian had no idea that he was his death. What the young man thought of him was the man whose favour could give him an edge over the enemies he had earned for himself in the past few weeks. A thigh he could hug to pass the storm.
Unfortunately for him, it was not his destined saviour who had acquired The Sevens Health Group.
It did not take long for the smile on the young man's face to stiffen after he looked at Keith and the ladies behind him.
"Master Demiliore, this is the young man I told you about." Dean Graham introduced Kylian to him.
"Master Demiliore." He drew his hand forward, but Keith kept looking into his eyes and smiled, which resulted in an awkward situation for everyone around them.
He was quite a handsome man, and handsome enough to be the successful womaniser that he was.
Curly brown hair and blue eyes, nearly six feet tall, and well-built. But he looked pathetically pale in comparison to Keith, whose beauty was unearthly.
"Interesting eyes, Mr Kylian." He finally spoke and grabbed the young man's hand. "However, you must understand that you can not lay them on every girl whom you find beautiful." He meaningfully said and watched Kylian's eyes quiver in apprehension.
"My apologies." He immediately bowed his head. "I was simply enchanted by the beauty of your companions."
"I see." He smiled at his excuse, knowing well that it was not the truth.
What Kylian had tried to do was to use the X-ray ability of the Spirit Eyes on him and his ladies, trying to see through the state of their health and find a reason to curry his favour.
And Keith was well aware of Kylian's lustful nature, and he had not missed how his eyes had lingered on Minami when they entered the room.
However, the poor man was now disturbed to find out that his ability was not working on them. He had been trying to see through them, their clothes and skin for the past few minutes, but his eyes were failing all thanks to the Isolation Bands he had bought for them from the System Shop, and thanks to God Ring he was wearing on his finger that had this function too.
Keith ignored him and then smiled at the young lady, who was standing next to Kylian and her Father, who was impatiently waiting to greet him.
"Mr. Wayne." He drew his hand forward, and the enthusiastic old man, who was one of the richest men in the city of Arkton and Netheria happily shook it.
"Mr. Demiliore. It's a pleasure to meet you tonight."
"Thank you." He smiled. "But I am curious why you are here. Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine." The old man laughed. "This is my youngest daughter." He put his arm around the shoulder of the girl, who was fairly quite beautiful. "She's a doctor here, and when she told me that you will be visiting tonight, I decided to come here to see you. Hope you did not mind."
"Of course, not." He waved it off and then drew his hand forward to the young lady, who smiled at him and shook his hand.
"Emiko Wayne, Master Demiliore." She gave him her name, and he courteously pulled her hand up to plant a kiss on her knuckles.
"You are indeed a beauty, Miss Emiko." He complimented her, and despite herself, she could not help but blush as she witnessed the smile on his ridiculously handsome face.
It was something that disturbed the jealous man next to her, who had been pursuing her for the past year, trying to find ways to get in her pants. And now, seeing the object of his affection and lust act so shyly before a man who was unfairly and ridiculously handsome, sent ways of envy crashing onto his heart.
Emiko then excitedly greeted Celine, and it turned out that she was a fan of her works. And then she raised the question that was on everyone's mind.
"May I ask who this beautiful girl is, Master Demiliore?" She asked as she smiled at Minami.
"Her name is Minami." He smiled as he glanced and met his loveable little maid's eyes. "And she is a princess." He told them, which flustered the young girl who immediately bowed to him with a blush on her fair cheeks.
"I am Young Master's Personal Maid." She informed everyone, making them surprised at the revelation.
Minami did not look like a maid at all, and they were more inclined to accept that she was a princess than a maid given how beautiful and refined she looked wearing that black frock dress.
It was the day that the world first learnt about the princess-like maid, whom the Young Master of the Demiliore Family seemingly dearly cared about.
