chapter-425
After a day since the store's opening, its fame started spreading around the neighborhood, and the traffic was quite immense.
While the first batch of customers came to check the store out of curiosity, in the end, they became very interested in the books, never-seen-before books.
Each had a different plot and storyline. The characters were deep and unique. Each word had its own attraction points that were rare already, but when there were close to a hundred similar books, it was mesmerizing and also odd.
Suddenly, hundred excellent and well-written stories appeared in this small store, each book better than the last. It raised a lot of suspicions and wonder.
The Priests and Priestesses soon heard about this small store and came to visit. In the end, they left with a bag of books, interested in what they were about.Isaac's wealth was increasing rapidly, and soon, even he wouldn't know what to do with all the money.
At the current time, the store was bustling with customers wandering around, checking every book. There were children gathered around the fairy tale section, teenagers around romance, and fantasy, while middle-aged and elderly focused on drama.
Isaac was seated behind the counter, a leather-covered book in his hand.
Then, a customer appeared with a book in his hands. He had thick glasses and baggy clothes.
''E-Excuse me…''
''Yes?'' Isaac raised his head away from the book and looked straight at the timid-looking man.
The timid-looking man slightly moved his glasses up the bridge of the nose and asked, ''About this book… Who is this author?''He placed the book on the desk and pointed at the name.
''Well… It has the name written.'' Isaac raised his eyebrow, wondering what his question was.
''I-I meant… Where is he from?'' He asked again with a more embarrassed tone, ''This book… It was made by a genius… I would love to meet him one day.''
''Ah…'' Isaac scratched his head. The author was from his world and had been dead for nearly four decades.
''He has… Passed away.'' Isaac said and turned back to read the book.
''Ah… I see…'' The timid-looking man returned the book to the shelf and left with slumped-down shoulders and a heavy look.
''Sigh…'' Isaac shook his head while sighing and resumed reading.
The time passed, and soon, the store was empty of customers. It was almost time for daily praying gestures, and that's when almost everyone was at their home.
Ding! Ding!
The door's bell rang as it was opened. A whiff of cold air escaped from outside and entered the store.
''Welcome,'' Isaac said while flipping through the pages. He didn't even glance in the direction of the door because the scene in the book stole all his attention.
Tap… Tap… Tap…
Calm, soft, delicate footsteps echoed throughout the small store. The footsteps grew closer and closer, the heels clanked against the soft carpet, and a beautiful shadow was slowly looming over Isaac.
Isaac saw everything going dark. He couldn't see even the text because of the sudden shadow. A slight breeze of cold extended throughout his body, and his fingers turned stiff.
Isaac slowly turned to look at the person, and his beautiful gray eyes shook in surprise.
The person in front of him was a beautiful, cold-faced woman with a beautiful blue dress that left her arms and the side of her legs open.
The last time he saw her, she was wearing baggy robes that fully covered her body, but now… It was like night and day. Her beauty increased to a whole new level, and even the lights coming from the stars turned dim when next to her.
Isaac quickly stood up, threw the book away, and bowed, ''Snow Goddess Khione, how may I be of assistance?''
It was common knowledge to bow in front of a Godly figure, at least in Priesthood. Not doing it may cause a terrible disaster in Spring Realm.
Khione's piercing, beautiful cold silverish eyes gazed at him without stopping. The seconds felt like minutes, and minutes felt like hours.
After a long two minutes, she turned around and returned to the bookshelves. She began trailing her finger alongside the covers, curiosity oozing out of her eyes as she carefully checked every book.
Isaac slowly straightened his back. A cold sweat had drenched his back.
After five minutes, Khione pulled out a book from the fairy tale section. Her lips slightly curved up, and with the amused look, she returned to the counter.
She placed a book on the desk. The cover was ice blue with snowflake patterns and a name that said The Snow Queen.
''It will be for free,'' Isaac said with sweatdrops trailing down his forehead. He heard from his customers that it was custom to give everything free to Gods and Goddesses. It was the least they could do.
''No… I will pay…'' Khione said while slowly taking out her money pouch, ''You are, after all… Running a business…''
She took several coins from the pouch and placed them on the counter. The amount she gave was close to 10,000 white coins.
''Thank you.'' Isaac gave another bow and quickly pocketed the money.
Khione took the book, and before she left, her silverish eyes again looked at Isaac, ''I didn't know… You were a Novelist.''
''I… I am not.'' Isaac shook his head and slowly tried to warm up his fingers that were about to turn to ice!
''But… You wrote all of these…'' Khione took a quick glance at the store and pursed her lips, ''Didn't you?''
''How are you so sure?'' Isaac asked and stuffed his hands into his pockets, trying to warm them somehow.
''I can feel your… Presence in every book.'' Khione said and finally walked away, which also removed the coldness. However, she didn't leave the store, instead went to a nearby couch and sat down gently.
The beautiful dress did not even get a single wrinkle, and her beautiful body was slowly pushing the dress forward, thus highlighting the curves of her body to perfection.
Isaac removed his hands from the pocket and let out a long sigh, 'Whew… I thought I was going to freeze to death… This feels like… She is trying to troll me…'
