Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband
-
chapter-1329
The next morning Ming Lan woke up and saw the place next to her was empty. She looked at the clock and saw she was not late and had to get ready to catch her flight. She looked around the room as she searched for Wen Zac. The event from last night flashed in front of her eyes.
She subconsciously touched her lips and remembered how good it felt. Her heart picked up a pace and she thought, 'Why did he do it suddenly? Of course, he is my husband but he never did it before. Is it like he started having feelings for me now? Does he like me now? The way he kissed, I felt like it…It felt so good…"
Just then the door of the bathroom opened and Wen Zac stepped out. The sound of the door opening brought her back to her senses and she looked at the man who had just had a bath and came out with a towel wrapped around his waist. She awkwardly averted her sight and sat in the bed.
"You should get ready or you will be late," he instructed.
Nodding, she stepped out of the bed and went to the bathroom and thought, 'Shouldn't he stop me from going if he likes me? Is he fine with me staying away?'She entered the bathroom and Wen Zac looked at the bed. He also remembered what he did last night., 'I wonder what had gotten into me. But she didn't say no. Is it out of compulsion to be my wife or has she now started liking me? gosh , should I just stop her?' he shook his head, 'She married me thinking I will let her work. I can't be an obstacle in her work,' he sighed and then smiled lightly, 'I can't stop her but I might go to her. That way I'll get to know where and how she works. Wouldn't it be nice to be with her all the time? I might make her fall for me.'
Ming Lan got ready and stepped out of the bathroom, only to see Wen Zac arranging the breakfast for her on the table. She went to him and he answered, "It's still early for others so I called for your breakfast here.
She nodded and he instructed, "Have a seat."
Ming Lan and Wen Zac served breakfast for her as he accompanied her for the same. While eating she peeked at the handsome man, 'He is always so thoughtful and good to me. But why was he so cold to me till before our marriage. When I asked him to marry me, at that time too he was so cold and looked like he was doing me a favour. I didn't expect him to treat me so well.'
Just then Wen Zac looked at her and caught her looking at him. She immediately averted her sight.
They both had not talked about the kiss the previous night and Wen Zac thought to say something now. "Last night…"
The mention of last night made her stop eating and she waited for him to talk."I believe you didn't mind it," he said.
"It's fine," she replied.
He raised his eyebrow and asked while looking into her eyes, "That means it will be fine every time…"
Cough! She looked at him only to get the same questioning gaze from him. She got the glass of water from him that he offered and nodded lightly to say yet to what he asked for.
Wen Zac could not be happier than this. It showed she had started accepting him. Not long till both of them will be like true husband and wife and will have kids playing around. With the thought of it, Wen Zac could not stop smiling pleasantly.
"Why are you smiling?" she asked.
"I just thought about having our kids," he replied, not bothering to think it might embarrass the woman in front of him.
Ming Lan lowered her gaze and didn't react but her heart was beating faster with the thought of it.
"What happened? You don't want it? We had talked about it when you asked me to marry you…."
"No, not like that," she interrupted him, "It was just so sudden and I didn't know what to say. I was…."
"Shy?" he asked.
She nodded.
"Finally you admitted to being shy around me. Not bad," he commented and added more food to her dish, "Eat nicely."
She nodded and ate obediently. Things between them were getting eased up and it was a good thing.
She said bye to the entire family and Wen Zac accompanied her to the airport. Once they left, his mother said, "They just got married and already have to stay away. I hope they will be fine."
"Don't worry. They know what they are doing. We should stay away from their matters," Mr. Wen assured his wife.
"Liwei left so soon and now Lanlan left too. This home feels empty now," she commented.
"Why don't you go and visit your daughter? That way you will have one vacation for yourself," he suggested.
"I will. I need to check if she is doing well there. After her engagement broke, I am still worried about her."
"She is fine. By the way, Lu Lijun has gone to England," Mr Wen informed.
"Why?"
"Not sure. Must be for business there."
"I hope he won't come across Liwei. I don't want her to be sad again."
"She had learned her lesson and it was good for her. You worry too much."
At the airport, Ming Lan was ready to leave.
"I will be back soon," she assured.
He nodded, "Take care. If there is anything, first call me."
"Hmm! I will leave now."
He nodded and she turned to leave. Seeing her stepping away from him, he felt empty inside and Ming Lan was the same.
She stopped, 'I never felt like this before whenever I left for my work. Why is it suddenly so difficult?'
Wen Zac didn't know why she stopped and wanted to ask what happened but before that, she turned to look at him. Her gaze was different from always.
Not thinking much, Wen Zac stepped towards her and kissed her. Ming Lan didn't stop him. It lasted for a few seconds and he pulled back as if it was a public place.
"I will miss you," he said.
It left Ming Lan speechless but she replied what was in her mind, "I will miss you too."
It was her genuine reply as she could not deny that only in a few days she had started feeling so attached to him.
Finally, she left as the two smiled at each other.
"That empty room will surely eat me with loneliness," he mumbled and turned to leave.
