After they had breakfast together, Lu Lijun was ready to leave with his father to the office.

"You are going to the office already? You just returned today," Ning Jiahui asked her son.

"Yes, mother. There are some important matters to handle. I was away for more than a week already," Lu Lijun informed.

"I thought you would spend some time with us at home," she said.

Lu Lijun went closer to his mother and gave her a gentle hug which surprised her as he never did it. "I understand mother. Once I return home, I'll be with you."

He let go of his frozen mother and looked at her, "Maybe this weekend if you are free, I plan to take you out for dinner."

Ning Jiahui looked at him in disbelief, "Are you trying to flatter me for something?"

He chuckled, "I don't need to falter you or anyone mother. I just thought I had not been such a good son to you. So I need to make up for it."

"And what about me? What about us?" Lu Lian asked, "I feel that you need to make up for not being a good brother to me."

"I am letting you marry that airheaded man of yours is already being a good brother to you," he countered.

"Hey, only I can call him airheaded."

"That means you agree that he is airheaded."

"You..you dare not call him like that. He is the smartest man I ever came across."

Lu Lijun offered her a questioning gaze and she replied, "Of course my brother's are smart as well."

"That's like it," Lu Lijun said and looked back at his mother, "I have to go."

Everyone could see the change in Lu Lijun. He looked like a responsible person and the one who could take care of everything.

He then looked at Jiang Yuyan who was quietly standing there, "You should rest home. Don't think about coming to the office."

She wanted to refuse what he said but before she could open her mouth, she noticed his serious gaze and nodded to what he said.

Others just silently watched it as if it was a natural thing to happen around. Jiang Yuyan, who was the one to decide everything on her own and for others, was not listening to what Lu Lijun said.

Lu Lijun left for the office with his father while Jiang Yuyan didn't know what to do. Suddenly this own home and family of hers, she found it difficult to face and awkward to be as if she had done something wrong.

Ning Jiahui turned to look at Jiang Yuyan and walked to her, "How have you been?"

"I am good, mother," she answered.

"When you were admitted to the hospital, I was worried and wished to come to you but I couldn't."

"It was nothing serious, Mother," Jiang Yuyan assured.

"Lijun was there to take care of you so we could be rest assured. I hope he was responsible and looked after you," Ning Jiahui said.

Jiang Yuyan gulped. If she had to be honest, Lu Lijun had taken very good care of her and there was nothing to complain about. In fact, he cared for her more than anyone could.

"Hmm," Jiang Yuyan simply nodded as she didn't have the guts to say that her son took really good care of her.

"Mother," Lu Lian came to them, "Do you still doubt Lu Lijun? He is not that stubborn brat but a responsible man now. Didn't you just before he left?"

Ning Jiahui didn't deny, "he sure has changed."

"A good change indeed. I am sure there is a reason behind this change," Lu Lian said and Jiang Yuyan felt like going away somewhere.

The current relationship between her and Lu Lijun was like an elephant in the room which everyone could see but no one wished to address.

Just then Lu Lian's cellphone rang as she received a message. She read the message and looked at Jiang Yuyan who was unusually calm, "Yuyan, will you come with me for the wedding dress selection. I need some suggestions from you."

"She just returned home. You should let her rest, Lian," Ning Jiahui said.

"Mother, I am fine. I can help Lian. Anyways I had slept in the flight so I don't need to rest," Jiang Yuyan spoke.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Mother."

"Fine, as you wish," Ning JiaHui approved and the two young women left the drawing room.

As the two sat in the car, Lu Lian chuckled, "You can breathe now, Yuyan."

Yuyan felt relieved that she was no longer at home and didn't have to face the family alone when Lu Lijun was gone. "Thank you, Lian."

Lu Lian raised her brow, "Just thank you for saving you from the awkwardness?"

Jiang Yuyan looked at her. "What do you want?"

"Your happiness," Lu Lian said, "I want you and Lu Lijun to talk openly to our family and let them accept you two clearly. Don't keep it like everyone knows but no one talks. You think about what they will say, and our family members think they will make you awkward, uncomfortable if they talk about it. If things are clear, we all can be happy."

Jiang Yuyan knew what Lu Lian said was right and she knew it herself as well. "We will do it."

"Good," Lu Lian turned on the car engine and drove away.

Soon they reached An Tian's showroom where Ming Lan had also arrived.

"Today, your husband is not with you, Mrs Wen?" Lu Lian asked.

"He is busy working," Ming Lan answered and went to Jiang Yuyan as they hugged, "I hope you are fine. I heard you were hospitalised, Yuyan."

"Of course she is fine. My brother has been taking special care of her," Lu Lian teased.

Jiang Yuyan narrowed her eyes at playful Lu Lian and looked at Ming Lan, "I am fine. How have you been."

"Well, she is also being taken care of by her husband. Putting her to bed and working hard to control himself from pouncing on his wife."

Ming Lan glared at Lu Lian, "You talk too much, Lain."

"Did I say something wrong? you sleep in the same bed but the poor man is being tortured even after having a wife."

Ming Lan felt she was being accused unfairly, "I didn't stop him, okay. It's him who is being patient."

"Oh really? Then in the next meeting, I will tell him not to be so patient to keep my friend virgin even after half a year of marriage."

"He must be waiting for the right time," Jiang Yuyan spoke.

"Ah right. Yuyan speaking from her own experience," Lu Lian once again teased, "Like how my brother waited till he took her to honeymoon...I mean a vacation."

"You sure talk too much," Jiang Yuyan said this time.

Just then the sales girl came to them, "Please have a seat. Mr. An will be on video call soon. You can discuss things with him and we will note."

"Brother Tian had to stay in England at this moment when I needed him the most," Lu Lian complained and heard a familiar voice, "I hear you, little bride to be."

She looked ahead towards the laptop placed on the centre table where the video call already started.
