Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband
-
chapter-22
"I-I am sorry. I didn't do that on purpose. Are you okay?" Jiang Yuyan was filled with guilt when she saw his expression.
Trying to suppress his pain, Lu Qiang said, "I am fine."
"But you don't look good. You should see a doctor." Worry seized her.
"No need," he said while he got up from the floor, supporting himself on the wall beside him.
Her guilt stopped her from worrying less. "Why not? My brother is a doctor, and he is in the restaurant." Suddenly, she paused for a moment, thinking over what she had said. "But he is a cardiologist, not the doctor of…" she trailed off, disguising her embarrassment with a cough. She couldn't continue, knowing that she would overstep. "Dummy!" she mumbled to herself. "Think before you speak.""I told you that I am fine." Lu Qiang was annoyed but felt slightly better as the pain slowly dissipated away.
"But—"
"Do you want to check it personally? I don't mind it." She was interrupted before she could properly start her sentence. He spoke with a curve of his lips and a bold stare into her eyes.
"W-what?" She was shocked by his sudden shameless attitude.
'You were in pain a moment ago. Now you have shown your true colors, you pervert!'
Being at fault this time, Jiang Yuyan avoided saying anything useless. "I'll take my leave as you are fine now." She turned towards the direction of the washroom.
"Thank you so much for your kindness. I'll make sure to repay it," Lu Qiang said to her retreating back. She turned around and turned to ask him what he meant when he spoke again. "It was a short but sweet kiss. I would like to get another taste of it," his voice was soft as he touched the corner of his lips with his thumb.
"You—" She was interrupted yet again.
"See you soon," he said before turning around and leaving without giving her a chance to retort.
She stomped her foot in anger. "Why is my day full of nuisance? I already had an annoying brother, and now I encountered a pervert."
Lu Qiang reached the room where his assistant was waiting for him. When Xiao Min saw his boss come back with a smile, he felt surprised and wanted to know the reason behind the expression. He resisted the urge to comment and opted to remain professional, "Boss, the guests have arrived and are waiting for you inside."
Lu Qiang nodded before entering the room.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Ning Gouzhi," he said as he entered the room. Ning Gouzhi stood up and shook hands with him. His assistant, Wu Lin, was standing behind him. Lu Qiang sat on the chair opposite to him and both discussed their business.
On the other side of the restaurant.
Jiang Yang was waiting for his sister after he was done deciding on the menu and making an order. He thought, 'It been quite a while since she left. Is there any problem?'
No sooner had he thought of this than he saw his sister arrive, her face burning with rage.
As she reached the table, he asked, "Why are you so red? Are you angry about something?" Before she could say anything, he continued with his usual logical thoughts. "Wait! Are you having your periods?"
She sat down on the chair. "Brother Yang, don't piss me off now." She looked down and began to mumble to herself, "It was worse than my period. I hope it never happens again."
Jiang Yang looked at her. "A person always looks relaxed after relieving themselves, but you look angry, so I thought you had your period suddenly and didn't have sanitary napkins with you. Do you want me to bring some for you?"
"Stop uselessly bringing up this topic. You and your period. Both are the biggest headaches of my life. I wish I could stop both of you from annoying me." Her voice raised in anger.
"I can't ensure that I will stop, but you can stop your period," he said calmly, scratching his head with his index finger, unaffected by her anger.
"How do I do that?" she asked, anticipating something good. But it was all an illusion.
"Remove your ovaries. No ovaries, no periods!" he said as if he was giving her the best solution.
"And no kids, either. Who is gonna produce a baby for me in the future? Will you help me?" She asked him mockingly.
"Huh?" He looked at her with a face full of questions.
"I mean will you replace your balls with my ovaries?" She deadpanned. She really meant it, and it scared her brother out of his wits.
He coughed, this time, in fear. "Sorry, sister, I can't do that. My balls are the most crucial part of my existence."
"So are the ovaries for women."
"Yes, but I don't menstruate. You had a problem, and I gave you a solution." He shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't need your overboard solutions," she said. She looked out of the glass wall. Something had caught her attention across the street.
Jiang Yang followed her sight. As he was about to say something, a waiter entered and served their food. Soon, the table was filled with delicacies.
