Champagne Apartments.

In the room, there was a faint yellow lamp on the bedside cabinet. Tang Mo’er’s luscious, long eyelashes quivered a little before she opened her eyes. Her bright, clear eyes dazedly looked at the resplendent chandelier above her. She turned her head towards the door.

There was a tall, handsome figure standing by the door. Gu Mohan was standing against the light, looking graceful and polished.

Both of their eyes met. Gu Mohan swiftly curved his thin lips and his low voice was laced with tenderness. “Mo’er...”

Tang Mo’er averted her gaze from his handsome face and looked elsewhere. She was searching for the person she wanted to find.

“Mr Gu... Mr Gu...” she called softly. Lifting the blanket, she stood up on the carpet and ran towards to the door without any shoes on.

“Mr Gu, where are you? Mr Gu, please come out. Don’t scare me!” Tang Mo’er’s pretty face blanched.

“Mo’er.” At this point, Jun Chulin emerged at the door.

The moment Tang Mo’er saw Jun Chulin, her eyes lit up, and she rushed over to him to jump into his embrace. Her little hands hugged Jun Chulin’s muscular waist and she smiled happily. “Mr Gu, you’re finally here. Where did you go? Please don’t leave me alone in the future, okay?”

The woman in his arms was getting weaker and did not seem to bear any weight on him. But when other women slimmed down, they became all bony, which made it uncomfortable for him to hug them. Tang Mo’er was an exception. The bones in her body seemed to be soft. Her skin was smooth and delicate, and she exuded a faint scent of a young girl. One could not get enough of hugging her.

Jun Chulin nodded. “Alright, I will not leave you in the future. Mo’er, don’t be scared.”

Auntie Wu saw this scene unfold before her and quietly looked at Gu Mohan, who was beside her. “Sir, this...”

Gu Mohan’s handsome figure stood there. He suddenly clenched his hands, that were hanging down by his sides. His deep and narrow eyes landed on Tang Mo’er. She had completely forgotten about him and was hugging another man...

It felt as if a large palm was squeezing his heart. He felt waves of contractions and it hurt to breathe.

His handsome facial features were rigid and became dark and hostile. His deep eyes reddened. He wanted badly to rush up to Tang Mo’er, snatch her away from Jun Chulin’s embrace and envelope her in his arms.

He would hug her tightly and assimilate her into his flesh and blood. That way, no one would be able to take her away from his life.

However, he dared not to do so.

He was aware that her physical health was deteriorating and he dared not agitate her.

Moreover, he did not dare to frighten her, for fear that she might hate him.

Gu Mohan’s handsome face was downcast. He went into the room and picked up the pink slippers that were beside the bed.

“Mo’er, put these shoes on.”

Tang Mo’er let go of Jun Chulin and turned her head. Gu Mohan was standing before her. This tall man was at least 1.9 meters tall and he hunched his broad body, placing her pink slippers next to her white feet.

Tang Mo’er paused. Who was he?

Gu Mohan was kneeling on one knee in front of her. He could see her dainty little feet, which were as fair, smooth and exquisite as a seashell. He stretched out his well-defined large palm to touch her feet, so that he could put on her shoes for her.

But before he could touch them, the two little feet retreated back fearfully.

Tang Mo’er withdrew her feet. A girl’s feet could not be touched casually by a man. She would only allow Mr Gu to touch them.

Who was this man?

Tang Mo’er felt nervous and fearful about this man and wanted to distance herself away from him. She did not know why he seemed to exude a strong desire to possess her, and furthermore, the way he looked at her felt scorching. It seemed like he liked her a lot. No, it was beyond that. It was to the point of adoration.

But she already had Mr Gu, and so she subconsciously wanted to distance herself away from him.

The two little feet in Gu Mohan’s vision were suddenly withdrawn. One foot was stepping on top of the other foot, and even her rounded toes were curled up, which looked adorable.

Gu Mohan’s throat bobbed. He wanted to kiss those little feet.

He lifted his thick eyelashes and looked at the woman. Tang Mo’er was looking at him with revulsion in her eyes.

Gu Mohan’s heart sank and quickly furrowed his good-looking brows.

Was she unhappy? Was she disgusted at him?

The man had knitted his brows so tightly that three deep lines were formed on his forehead. Tang Mo’er felt as though there was a needle deeply pierced into her heart, causing her to feel tiny pricks of pain. She wanted to stretch out her delicate finger to stroke his tightly knitted brows and help him to relieve the deep lines.

At this moment, Gu Mohan stood up and glanced at Auntie Wu.

Aunt Wu abruptly went forward. “Young Madam, the carpet is cold. Quick, Auntie Wu will help you to put on your slippers.”

Hearing her words, Tang Mo’er was willing to lift her feet. “Thank you.”

After wearing her shoes, Tang Mo’er looked at Jun Chulin. “Mr Gu, I’m hungry. Can you cook for me?”

Jun Chulin nodded. “Sure.”

...

Both of them went to the kitchen. Jun Chulin did not require Auntie Wu to help and was able to prepare three dishes and one soup within the hour.

In the living room, Tang Mo’er was stunned by the aromatic and delicious dishes. She looked at Jun Chulin in shock. “Mr Gu, since when did your culinary skills become so good? I remember that... it seemed like... you only know how to cook noodles...”

Jun Chulin’s culinary skills were impeccable. He was in the political sector and had become independent at a very young age. Hence, knowing how to cook was not a problem for him.

But, in Tang Mo’er’s memories, she remembered that Mr Gu only knew how to cook noodles.

“Mo’er, so do you like the Mr Gu who did not know how to cook previously, or the Mr Gu who knows how to cook now?” Jun Chulin asked.

Men who had good culinary skills would get bonus points. A smile immediately played on Tang Mo’er’s pretty lips. “Of course I prefer the Mr Gu who knows how to cook now. Mr Gu is wonderful.”

Jun Chulin used his chopsticks to pick up a piece of stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots and brought it to Tang Mo’er’s lips. “Take a bite and see if you like it?”

Tang Mo’er took a bite and her eyes lit up. “It’s delicious! I’ll definitely eat two bowls of rice today.”

Gu Mohan leaned against the window as he observed the pair. Two buttons on his black shirt had already been undone, revealing his sexy collarbones and healthy bronze-colored skin. He was holding a cigarette with two long fingers in his right hand. He knitted his brows and puffed out some smoke.

The smoke swirled about him. His deep and narrow eyes landed on the two figures in the living room. Tang Mo’er ate two small bowls of rice, despite having little appetite for food all along. Her exquisite facial features, which looked like they had been drawn with ink, revealed a smiling expression. She was chatting and laughing together with Jun Chulin.

She liked Jun Chulin’s stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots dish very much.

Gu Mohan’s cold, thin lips curved slightly. He raised his head and puffed out a mouthful of smoke. ‘I can cook stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots dish too,’ he thought.

He had been busy with caring for her health and company matters, that he did not have the time to improve his culinary skills. Perhaps it was time for him to include culinary classes in his schedule.
