Chapter 944: Is It Alright If the Child Isn’t Mine?

She had always felt guilty, and was unable to get over it. She was unable to forgive and she was unable to forget.

It was as she had said. Everything that happened in the past was because he couldn’t stop loving her. But as the victim, she was the one who was choosing not to forgive.

She couldn’t stop blaming herself, doubting herself and putting herself down because of Little Lemon’s disease.

How could she possibly forgive him if she couldn’t even forgive herself?

And now she had to give birth to another child just to save Little Lemon.

Fate was playing a huge joke on them.

What a cruel joke.

This was akin to prying open the bloody wounds in her heart yet again, so that she could relive those nightmares again, forcing her to relive the pain.

Her body wouldn’t be able to take the burden of having another child. Her courage had all disappeared during the year she gave birth to Little Lemon.

If she could do everything once again, she might have chosen not to give birth to Little Lemon, to save her from all this pain.

Now that she was offered this choice, there was no way she was going to choose it. Having another child would mean unleashing their horrible past once again.

Fu Qinglun frowned. He actually hadn’t intended on telling her this. He knew that telling her would mean bringing her more pain.

But she was Little Lemon’s mother. She had the right to know.

This was the first time he had felt so powerless.

At the hospital.

Little Lemon was already feeling better. She sat on the bed stroking her raven black hair. “Mommy, it’s fine. You can help me shave my hair off. Once I’ve recovered, I can grow my hair back again.”

How was her daughter just so good?

Lin Shiyu picked up the scissors and cut Little Lemon’s soft, silky hair off.

She had to shave her hair all off before starting chemotherapy.

In an instant, a bald little girl stared back at her from the mirror.

Old Madam and Madam Sikong were heartbroken and they walked out of the room to cry. But Little Lemon took a look at herself and only smiled sweetly. “Mommy, do I look very ugly like this?”

Lin Shiyu’s eyes were rimmed with red. “Of course not. Little Lemon without any hair is still the prettiest.”

“Then why isn’t Mommy smiling?”

Little Lemon reached out with her small hands and drew a huge smile on Lin Shiyu’s lips. “Give me a smile mommy, Little Lemon likes seeing Mommy smile the most.”

The corners of Lin Shiyu’s lips immediately curved upwards as she gave her daughter a gentle smile.

“Mommy’s the prettiest when she smiles.”

Lin Shiyu reached out to hug Little Lemon, her thick lashes becoming wet with tears. But she didn’t let those tears fall.

A tall and straight figure stood next to the door. Fu Qinglun looked at the mother and daughter embracing each other. Love and warmth filled his deep eyes.

With two soft knocks, Sikong appeared at the door. “Miss Lin, can I have a word with you?”

In the office.

Sikong spoke. “Miss Lin, We’ll be starting Little Lemon on chemotherapy today. I’ll be there throughout the entire process, so you can rest assured, but her pain will gradually get worse as we proceed with the chemotherapy. Did Ah Sen tell you that the two of you need to have another child? After four to five months, I’ll be able to take a sample of the fetus’s hair for some tests. There’s a ninety-nine percent chance of this succeeding. With that we’ll be able to save Little Lemon.

“Even considering the state of your body, you can still get pregnant with Ah Sen’s child. The child can be from the two of you.”

Lin Shiyu’s beautiful face was pale. She looked straight at Sikong and asked, “Is it alright if the child isn’t mine?”

“What do you mean?” Sikong was taken aback.

Fu Qinglun was standing outside the door. He narrowed his black eyes as he heard this and quickly reached out, opening the office door with a bang.
