Ding Fu frowned a little as she continued saying, “Our two kids, they might need to be forced to endure all of this. It’s my fault that I spoiled them a little too much. I kept thinking about giving a better life since they were adopted, however, both of them were fully grown adults now, they will have to face the reality and hardships of life. They had to know that life isn’t always smooth sailing, right?”

Ding Fu’s compassion, empathy toward others and her kindness.

All of Ding Fu’s qualities warmed and touched Yue Pengcheng soul. He grabbed onto Ding Fu’s hands and said, “Don’t you worry Xiao Fu. Since we’re finally back here, I’ll divorce Su Ningmei and formally marry you no matter how hard it is.”

Ding Fu expression had a glint of loneliness and despair. She said, “Alright, that’s enough. We’ll cross that bridge when it comes to it. There’s knocking on the door outside and judging from the tone of the voice, it doesn’t seem too friendly. Go check it out would you.”

Yue Pengcheng’s heart was clenching in emotional pain. He wanted to fully explain what he meant. However, the knocking on the door was extremely violent, and the person behind that door sounded urgent.

Yue Pengcheng was annoyed and frustrated as he proceeded to open the door.

“Who on Earth is it? Don’t make me file a complaint about you guys disturbing my sleep at this hour.”

The door was pushed violently as soon as it slightly opened up. About 4 to 5 men rushed into the room, all of them had a cold and serious expression on their faces.

One of the men was clean and sharp looking. He took one gaze at Ding Fu and turned away. He never looked back at her direction. He faced Yue Pengcheng and demanded in a cold and serious tone, “Your documents.”

Yue Pengcheng frowned and asked the man, “Who are you guys?”

The man yelled at him in a commanding tone, “Hand your documents over right now.”

Ding Fu whispered to Yue Pengcheng, “Pengcheng, just do as they ask. Don’t need to stir up unwanted trouble. Just hand them the documents…”

These men looked like the police, even though they were not in uniform, however, judging from the way they demanded the documents the very moment they entered the room and nothing else, they could quite possibly be the cops.

Yue Pengcheng too felt like these people were actual cops. Since they had just returned to their country, they would not want any trouble with the law, and so Yue Pengcheng handed over their documents.

Yue Pengcheng had lived elsewhere away from the country for a long period of time. He had gained permanent residency status in M Country, thus he handed over his green card to the cops and explained, “Look carefully, I am from M Country and I am a man of status there. All of you will have to explain yourselves for your actions today.”

The man took the green card and had a look. He then said, “So what if you’re from M Country and had the green card?”

The raised the passport and identification card in the air and sarcastically said, “If you’re truly that entitled, why do you still need our country’s passport and identification card? You think you’re entitled because you spent years overseas and that you’re better than everyone here? At the end of the day, you’re still a citizen of our country and so the laws of this country would still apply to you without exception.”

Yue Pengcheng furiously snapped back and said, “Do you know who I am?”

“I don’t care who you are, we had received a report about someone in this hotel and in room 1206 was involved in the act of prostitution. We are here to do our job as a servant of the government, so I implore you to cooperate with our search.” The man exclaimed.

Yue Pengcheng felt extremely insulted by that comment. He snapped back and said, “You’re being ridiculous with your accusations, we happened to be a legally married couple.”

“Married couple you say? Where’s your wedding certificate? Hand them over then.” The man demanded.

Yue Pengcheng panicked and frantically explained. “We’re registered overseas but we’re not registered here.”

The man’s expression grew cold as he said, “So there’s no proof to back up your claims then? Since that’s the case, I will need you to follow me back to the station, unless you could prove that you weren’t a hustler and she wasn’t a prostitute.”

Yue Pengcheng is boiling in his own bath of overwhelming fury. He could not believe that someone actually called him a hustler and Ding Fu a prostitute. These comments were absolutely insulting and offending to him.
