chapter-1052
"...Alright."
Whoosh!
Opening his eyes, Valyr let out a contented sigh as he brought up his status screen to take a look at how much Mystic Energy he'd gained.
"Huh. 183 points this time around." Going through the various calculations in his mind, it did not take long for him to obtain his answer, his eyes slightly widening in surprise once he figured it out.
"Ain't that like 50% more what I gained the first time I did it?"As he muttered those words to himself, the young man soon shifted his gaze towards both Mystia and Marcus, who were both still in a cross-legged position, their senses focused inwards as they were in the midst of purifying their Mystic Energy.
After he agreed to their request of teaching them how to purify Mystic Energy, Valyr went ahead and explained the purification process to the two as best as he could, deciding to start simple by having them push their Mystic Energy to the Pure stage first.
Of course, the two bombarded him with questions along the way, hoping to clear up the confusion they had about the overall process.
At the same time, the young man had a few questions of his own while doing so, with most of them having something to do with Marcus.
That was due to the fact that Marcus was the Overseer of the Mystic Plane, the so-called personification of the plane itself that has the ability to wield the entire plane's power.
With that in mind, then it would make sense that Marcus would have the ability to conjure the pure version of Mystic Energy itself since he had access to the strength Valyr had contributed to the plane.
In response to that train of thought, Marcus explained to Valyr that although he could access that energy the moment Valyr opened the gates for him, he would suffer from a decrease in potency and quality if he did not go through the process just like them.Which thus led to the current case of both Mystia and Marcus purifying their Mystic Energy in preparation for the later stages of the purification method, with Mystia noticeably making more progress than Marcus was.
"I'd say they'll take another half day to reach the Pure stage," said Valyr to himself after looking at the two for a while, realizing that two days have already passed in the Mystic Plane ever since he arrived with Mystia.
After assuming the position of Guardian and trying out how to absorb Mystic Energy for the first time, the total amount of time that passed in the Mystic Plane was roughly six hours.
Then, once Valyr decided to prove that the endeavor of purifying Mystic Energy was not impossible by doing it himself, almost half a day had passed in total by the time he returned his senses to reality.
Considering that it only took a couple of hours for him to teach the two how to purify their own Mystic Energy, that meant that he had spent the past day keeping an eye on the two as they progressed in purifying their Mystic Energy.
Though he was indeed keeping an eye on them from time to time over the past day, he spent most of his time absorbing more Mystic Energy from the surroundings, slightly surprised that there had been no other incident of intruders since then.
Nevertheless, the young man made the most of the opportunity, slowly but surely improving his yield with every session, giving him the confidence that it wouldn't be long until he obtained 200 points of Mystic Energy every session.
"Now I have over 3,000 points of Mystic Energy." Smiling as he looked at the progress he made over the past day, Valyr soon closed the screen he brought up before proceeding to familiarize himself more with [Basic True Mystic Energy Manipulation].
Swoosh!
Releasing a considerable amount of his Mystic Energy into his surroundings, Valyr distanced himself from the two before beginning to conjure a series of items that he felt would be useful in actual combat.
Whoosh!
Starting off with the simplest to conjure, the young man went ahead and conjure a row of shields using the Mystic Energy, immediately feeling the reduction in consumption now that his Mystic Energy was at the Pure stage.
Having the shields revolve around him after that as if he were a moving tank, the young man smiled as he dispelled the shields, only to then transform it into a healing field that regenerated both health and stamina.
Swoosh!
In a matter of moments, a slight green tinge covered the space a few meters around Valyr, immediately giving him a feeling of relief the moment the green light landed on his body.
Feeling the constant expenditure of the field to be manageable, the young man decided to experiment with the field a bit more, expanding its range and potency as much as his current capacity was able to handle.
In the end, he figured out that he was able to expand the field to span over 15 meters in radius, while having a level of potency high enough to visibly heal surface wounds.
'I'd only be able to sustain it for a few seconds at most for now, though,' thought Valyr to himself, slightly eager to purify his Mystic Energy for that reason.
After giving his Mystic Energy the time it needed to recover for a bit, he then moved onto the last couple of purposes Mystia briefed him on, which was to use the Mystic Energy to empower allies and to debilitate enemies.
Surprisingly, a great amount of Mystic Energy was siphoned out of him the moment he began to think about using the energy to empower someone, causing the attempt to fail before it could even manifest in his surroundings.
Giving himself all the time he needed to regenerate his Mystic Energy back to full, the young man was only met with the same conclusion, now realizing that Mystia's words regarding the last two purposes were not to be taken lightly.
"I suppose I need 5,000 points to make it briefly manifest?" asked the young man to himself as he went over the experience, briefly doing a few calculations in his mind. "It'd probably be better to push it to 8,000 to be sure it lasts for at least a second."
"Of course, I should focus on purifying Mystic Energy as well," reminded Valyr to himself, chuckling as he let his thoughts wander for a bit.
"Hmm..." Briefly glancing at Mystia and Marcus from time to time, a thought gradually surfaced within Valyr's mind, which he immediately focused on the moment he noticed it. "Is it even possible?" Going over the thought in his mind a couple of times to be sure, the young man suppressed his excitement as he released a bit of Mystic Energy into his
surroundings.
Then, going over the thought he had one last time, he then infused a purpose into the Mystic Energy that was different from all of the ones he'd gone through before.
He didn't infuse it with the purpose of defending something, healing something, empowering something, or debilitating something.
Instead... he willed his Mystic Energy to manifest with the purpose of forging something.
Whoosh!
And surprisingly enough...
It worked.
