The barracks were nothing special to look at. They were situated in an area outside the capital a few hundred kilometers away. Just getting there took half a day. The entire barracks were hidden a few kilometers inside the forest. A large wooden wall surrounded it, and all the buildings inside were also made of wood. Kana figured that as they cleared the surrounding trees that they used the downed trees to build the buildings, which was not a bad way of going about things.

"You will only be here for a few hours. Once you get registered and are assigned to a unit, you will be brought out to the battlefield to report." Captain Tian explained as he brought Kana to a building not far from the entrance.

When they walked in, they were greeted by two soldiers in a green uniform. When they saw Captain Tian, they quickly went to attention and saluted him. Captain Tian nodded and headed over to a window where a young woman sat doing paperwork. "I am here for Miss Kana's things."

"Mmm… They just came in. One second..." The young woman got up and walked over to where a wooden box was. She picked the box up and brought it over to the window, and set it on the counter. "Alright, listen up. Take this list and go through this box. Make sure everything is there. If there is anything missing, let me know. I will put it in the box for you."

"I will, thanks." Kana replied, picking up the box.

Captain Tian pointed to a table built into a wall at the side and said: "Check it over there."

Kana nodded and set the box down, and began going through it. The list said it contained the following.

1) Tent

2) Backpack

3) Thirty day emergency rations

4) Four full sets of clothing, including pants, shirts, underwear, socks, and boots.

5) Under armor chain mail.

6) Fifty healing potions.

7) Twenty mana potions

8) Small suicide dagger

Kana ignored most of what was there except the clothes and the small dagger. She really couldn't believe the name for the dagger on the list, but in a way, it made sense. It was something that one could easily secure to their body, and if needed, they could use to to end their life if they were facing an enemy they knew would torture them.

As for the clothes, she was surprised to see that they resembled her normal clothing but made in the colors of the military uniform. Even the chain mail was custom fitted. Sadly none of these items had any stats to them. Kana made sure to check quite a few times. Only the healing potion and mana potion were the only things that were useful in this sense.

"Everything is here." Kana said as she packed everything up into the bag and brought the box back to the young woman.

"Then take this, drop some blood on it. This will be how we keep track of your prestige. I am not sure how much you know, but prestige works like this. Half point normal soldier, full point for a captain, and two points for a general. If you kill an ally, your prestige will also go down, so be careful of friendly fire. The battle between the two countries has been ongoing for thousands of years. There is not much direction on how you should fight. As long as you kill the enemy, you can do as you please. But like I said, killing allies will result in a loss of points." The young woman explained.

Kana looked at the sky blue stone in her hand that had a number floating in the middle of it and found it quite intriguing. She bit the tip of her finger and dripped a bit of blood onto the stone. It shined brightly before dimming once again. "Good, you are now registered. From this moment on, you are now officially part of the Draco Unit. Your captain will be here in a few hours to pick you up. Captain Tian will lead you to where you can rest."

After thanking the young woman, Captain Tian took Kana to a rest area that had chairs and even wooden beds for people to rest on. The room had a few other people inside it as well. "You can wait here. Captain Fos will be here to pick you up when she arrives."

"Thank you." Kana adjusted the bag on her back and found a seat to sit. She looked around to see six others. Surprisingly all the others were female as well.

One girl noticed Kana and walked over to her with a smile on her face. "You just arrived as well?"

"Mmmm… Just finished taking the knight test yesterday." Kana replied, giving the girl a smile of her own.

"What? Are you not supposed to spend six months in training before they send you to the battlefield!?" The girl looked shocked at Kana's words.

"I am not sure… The knight who oversaw my test only informed me that I was to come here today and would be sent directly to the battlefield." Kana answered. Kana knew the reason why she was being sent directly to the battlefield. She knew it had something to do with the king. She, of course, would not make this public in case it worked against her.

Another girl who heard the two's conversation walked over and asked: "What was the knight's name?"

"This… Now that I think about it, I am not sure..." Kana drew a blank when trying to remember the knight's name. If it wasn't for the girl asking her this, she would not have even thought about it.

"It's not surprising. It is probably Knight Fade. He has an ability to become forgettable. He might have said his name a few times but it will never enter anyone's ears but his own. It's not even a skill either. It's just him. He is a very forgettable person..." The girl who had just walked up explained.

"Then why do you remember him?" The girl who first talked to Kana asked.

"Because I like him!"
