[Late Kana more to come]

The tribe of beastkins decided that being killed one after the other without any resistance was not how their tribe raised them. The group of twenty tribe members all charged at Kana, sending out waves of energy with each attack only to have it reflect back at them. Once they entered Kana's range, they began losing all their energy as well. Kana barely had to do anything as she arrived in front of each one of them and sucked the power out of their body and ate their souls. In a matter of minutes, all twenty tribe members are nothing but husks on the ground.

Aruya had waited until she was done and retracted her withering before exiting her body and looking at the aftermath. She frowned slightly before turning to look at Kana. "Is this the path you have chosen?"

Kana looked at Aruya's frown and smiled. "Aruya, in this world, there are times to be good and times when you must do evil. To survive and get strong, one must put forth their utmost effort and do everything they can to become stronger. They may be sentient beings, but what difference is there if I killed monsters or them? Either way, I would have been killing something. "

"No, I meant can you not turn them into dust instead of leaving bodies everywhere? It's messy…." Aruya said as she kicked one of the dried out tribe members with a frown on her face.

Kana blushed as she thought Aruya was asking if her current actions were the path she chose or not. Kana scratched her head and had Aruya take a step back as she set the bodies on fire. "So you are not bothered by this massacre?"

"Hmm? Why would I be? Life and death are dictated by the actions of one. They wished to kill you, to begin with, so there is no harm and killing them. Even if that was not the case, as you said, what is the difference if you killed them compared to a monster who has not evolved yet? You're the goddess of death. You dictate the lives of others. So what's wrong with taking a few in order to level up? Speaking of which, did you level up?" Aruya asked.

"Now that you mention it..." Kana opened her menu and saw that she had indeed leveled up.

Seeing that she had acquired a new skill made Kana happy. Even though she could make her own, she still liked the fact that she still got new ones with her elements. "Kana, I think the new guy wishes to say something."

"Hmm?" Kana closed her menu and looked at Ganjo.

Ganjo lowered his head as he said: "Master, sorry for underestimating your true strength."

"It's fine. I know you are not all that happy to be forced into a contract. But I promise you that I will make you happy about it in the future. " Kana knew that Ganjo did not want her to risk her life because if she died, so would he, which was understandable.

"Master, do not get me wrong. I do not mind being contracted. I just do not wish to die anytime soon. Nor do I wish to see you come to harm." Ganjo replied. He was mad at first for being forcefully contracted, but when he saw that he gained more power afterwards, he no longer minded it. Plus the one he was contracted to was very strong. Being contracted by such a powerful person was not so bad.

"I understand. Thank you for your concern." Kana said with a smile as she patted the top of Ganjo's head. "Now I need to find a place to use as my base camp here. I have a feeling I will be on this island for a long time."

Kana looked up at the stormy clouds overhead. Although they seemed to cover the land as far as the eye could see, she was not sure of just how big this place actually was. She wondered if this place was an island or a continent of its own. "Well I got plenty of time. I will just keep working hard until I am able to reach the peak of this realm."

"We will help you along the way. But for now I will go back and sleep." Aruya yawned and then disappeared causing Kana to chuckle. "Did she not just say she would help along the way?"

"It seems she meant sleeping along the way." Ganjo replied with a joke causing Kana to laugh.
