"Master…" Kalypso mumbled in a low voice as she felt the energy in Damien's soul plane getting agitated.

She could see that Damien cared about the Little King like a friend, and seeing the Little King's ring with leftovers of blood on it, there was no doubt that Little King was one of the many who were unfortunate to get sacrificed here.

Even though Little King was a mortal, she also felt bad he was gone since he was the reason she was able to unite with her Master. If not for him showing Damien where she was dying, she would have forever disappeared without getting the chance to work on her regrets.

"Ruthren did this…He killed Little King and everyone else. No wonder…I never got any messages or calls for help," Damien said calmly, though his eyes were emitting a dark, chilling light.

Damien gripped the ring in his palm tightly as he remembered that innocent little boy who was forced to mature himself to be a king.

He hadn't known him for a long time, but during the time he did, Damien admired the kind of person he was. He was something not even Damien was able to become in his past life.

"His sister…she must be gone too, right?" Damien asked with a heavy look. He and Yuria saved her life, but who knew things would end like this for those poor siblings.

"We can't say that, Master. Based on the death aura here, it is true that thousands and thousands of people died here, but that does not mean everyone in the Shizar Kingdom. Some must have definitely escaped and must be hiding out of fear. Maybe that is the reason nobody ever heard of what really happened here, and with Ruthren's men silencing anyone who might spread rumors, this will remain hidden," Kalypso mused.

"That fucker…I can't wait to kill him nice and slow," Damien said in a dark tone as he placed the ring inside his soul space.

"Before you think about that, think about what to do with this abomination growing down there," Luna mentioned after making sure Damien was done grieving for his friend.

She continued, "Whatever is inside it will definitely be even stronger than Ruthren and obviously very deadly."

"Stronger than Ruthren?" Damien asked with widened eyes. Ruthren was already a pain in the ass he had to deal with, so how could he imagine himself dealing with something stronger than Ruthren?

If the thing inside this egg was really stronger than Ruthren, wouldn't it definitely be in the Noble Ethereal Realm? Just that thought made Damien feel increasingly worried, though he didn't panic.

"Then let's destroy this ugly thing before it can come out of the egg," Damien said as he began to circulate all the ethereal energy he could find in his ethereal core.

"Master, be careful. We still don't have a complete picture of what is going on here or how Ruthren managed to do all this," Kalypso said worriedly as she felt Damien's aura rising and rising.

"We can think about how Ruthren did it later. But right now, destroying this thing will not only save our continent but also deal quite a big damage to Ruthren. I am sure he must have been planning this for centuries. If only I had taken a look at this hole before, then maybe things wouldn't have gotten this bad," Damien said with a hint of regret and disappointment in his voice.

Before he went to the Rising Sun Convention, Drake had told him about the real mission Ruthren sent him for…to dig a hole in the Shizar Palace.

But at that time, Damien was too occupied with saving Lily and Yuria, he had put it off for later. And then one thing followed the other till he never got the time to think about coming here.

"I will just fucking vaporize this thing…if I can…" Damien said as jet black streaks began to crackle in his hand before they multiplied and coalesced together to form a massive and impressive thunderbolt.

It looked even more menacing and powerful than it usually would, which made Damien think it was probably because he was surrounded by death aura, which makes him stronger as well.

Damien even felt that if he were to throw this powerful thunderbolt at Ruthren, he would at least feel some pain.

Still, he didn't forget about why he even conjured this lighting bolt as he aimed at the black egg suspended inside the pit.

"Go to hell," Damien mumbled with an annoyed look as he threw the lightning bolt at the egg.

*BOOM!*

To Damien's surprise, a resounding explosion happened the moment the lightning bolt struck the egg while the resulting shockwaves sent Damien flying till his back smashed against the walls.

The walls came crumbling down till Damien got lodged deep within the broken marbles. These walls were made with one of the highest quality ethereal stones available, and yet his body was smashed a couple of meters deep into it.

"Ughh…my back…" Damien felt as if his spine got rattled, though his body quickly began to recover.

"What the hell happened…" Damien mumbled as he tried to come out from the walls, though his brows raised when he saw dense black energy circling above the pit and becoming bigger and bigger.

"I failed?" Damien asked with a confused look as he saw the black energy forming a mini tornado in front of him. It was as if he made something angry, and this was the reaction.

"You triggered some sort of self-preservation mechanism, and this is it. That egg is still there. Your lightning bolt didn't leave a scratch on it," Luna said with a head shake.

"No way…" Damien couldn't believe that his thunderbolt, which he had conjured with all the strength in his body, didn't even land a scratch on the egg.

"Oh shit," But he had bigger things to worry about when he saw multiple black tendrils shooting toward him as if to trap him.
